AI tutor

Conversations at every level, for everyone

Busuu Conversations are goal-based AI role-plays, and they sit in Premium Plus, app only, with feedback for English and Spanish [5]. PhrasiGo’s Talk is part of the free app in every language it offers: ten scenarios, an A1 to B1 level selector, voice or text, gentle corrections with a short why, and a closing list of phrases worth saving.

What makes it different is the briefing: the tutor knows the phrases you have saved and steers the conversation so you use them.

  • 10 scenarios, 3 levels, 35 languages
  • 30 conversations a day, signed in
  • Save the tutor’s suggestions straight into your phrasebook

Your content

The sentence the course did not include

Busuu’s Vocabulary Review holds the words from its lessons [2]. PhrasiGo adds your sentences to the same schedule as its course: type it and get the translation with gendered forms, a natural voice, a phonetic guide for non-Latin scripts and a meaning for every word.

  • 100 sentences a day, signed in
  • Both ♂ and ♀ forms
  • Folders for trips, work, exams

Speaking

Scored word by word, on the free tier

Speaking Practice is a Premium Plus feature at Busuu [1]. In PhrasiGo it is one of the seven core modes: read the sentence aloud, get a word-by-word verdict, retry for free if the app could not hear you clearly. A suspiciously fast “perfect” answer is rejected, so a pass means you said it.

Motivation

Streak repair you never have to buy

Busuu lists Streak Repair among its paid features [1]. PhrasiGo gives you two freezes on day one, more as you practice, and spends them for you automatically on a missed day. Leagues are seven honest tiers: clear the weekly XP threshold and you promote, no 40-person board required.

Making the move

Coming from Busuu? Keep the CEFR ladder, drop the tiers.

They join the same FSRS schedule as the course.

  3. 3

Every scenario, every level, every language, at no cost.

  4. 4

    Turn on daily reminders

A morning plan and, if you need it, a last-call nudge before midnight.

Questions people ask

Is PhrasiGo really free, or is there a catch?
There is no paid tier in the app right now and there are no ads. Instead of a paywall, PhrasiGo has fair-use limits so nobody can run up the AI bill: signed in with Google, you can add 100 new phrases a day, do 200 speaking exercises a day and hold 30 AI conversations a day. Without an account the limits are lower. Everything else, including the whole guided course, is open.
Does PhrasiGo have community corrections like Busuu?
No. Corrections in PhrasiGo come from the AI tutor during Talk and from word-by-word scoring in Speaking mode. If feedback from real native speakers is what you value most, Busuu’s community remains a genuine advantage.
Does PhrasiGo issue certificates?
No. PhrasiGo tracks your progress with mastery rings, crowns and leagues, but it does not issue CEFR certificates.
Can I import my existing cards or word lists?
Not yet. There is no file import, so you add sentences one at a time. In practice that is fast: you type one sentence and the translation, audio, gendered forms and word meanings are generated for you. You can export everything you have built as a JSON file at any time.
Is PhrasiGo available on iPhone?
PhrasiGo ships on Android through Google Play today. The iPhone version is built from the same code and is in testing; it will appear on this site the day it is live on the App Store.
